Change of Plans

Cold, cold, cold!  There was no other way to describe it other than it was cold overnight and appeared it was going to remain "socked in" all day.  We heard on the radio the forecast for single digits in the mountains.  After breaking camp we headed for Cradle Mountain where it was our intent to hike the famous Dove Lake circuit  but after jumping out at a lookout and feeling the cold, blustery winds and pellets of rain our minds were quickly changed. We decided to drive to Stanley on the coast near the NW corner of Tasmania
Stanley claims to ne the most photographed village in Tasmania. There we climbed the nut, an extinct volcano extending out into the sea. It indeed was a quaint photogenic village and well worth the extra drive - it was also sunny there!  We puttered around town and had seafood (well, Nancy did) down on the dock in the evening.
