Day of Hikes

Today was designated the day of short hikes as we travelled from Wayatinah to Strahan through the World Heritage site of the Franklin-Gordon National park.  None of the walks exceeded four kilometres, but we did get an excellent overview of the terrain which, from the driver's perspective was always undulating, climbing, turning or decending.
Along the way we walked the:

Platypus Loop and Meeting of the Waters at Lake St. Claire

Lookout at the Great Divide

Franklin River nature walk

Denaghy Lookout

the beautiful Nelson Falls (nicer even than Russell Falls)

and the not-so-pretty lookout over the landscape devastated by copper mining and forestry near Queenstown.
