After leaving the Tasman peninsula we made our way to a small, pastoral campsite near the tiny village of Wayatinah. While driving through the penninsula we drove by the charred remains of bush and homes. Pictures of homes aren't posted out of respect for the owners.
En route through the penninsula we viewed the vistas and walked about Tasman's Arch,Tasman's Blow hole - which was only puffing a little during our brief stop over -
and finally the tesselated pavement on the shoreline of Pirates Bay in the Tessalated Pavement State Reserve.
We then turned to the interior and headed through a series of paddocks, hills and forests following the valley of the Derwent River to Mount Field National Park.
There we walked to Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls both of which were lovely small falls among the tropical tree-ferns of the forest.
We ended the day with tea and biscuits down by the lake at the Wayatinah campground after being genially advised by the proprietors to just park wherever we wished and the check out time the following day was "whenever ya want, we're pretty casual here".
